Wey Kean is an incredibly dedicated coach who always pushes his students to be the best versions of themselves — whether as a debater or a person. As a seasoned debater and coach, Wey Kean brings both depth and breadth in debating pedagogy and knowledge. The insightful feedback that Wey Kean provides after each session motivates me to improve and work on my areas of weaknesses. I'm beyond privileged to have had him as my coach.

As a coach, Wey Kean was pivotal in guiding my debate journey. Having less experience than others around me, I often felt as though I was struggling to keep up. However, he relentlessly went above and beyond to make me a better debater, never begrudging the time it took to provide extra guidance. Beyond that, he was dedicated to cultivating our passion for debate. Through his coaching, I gained a deeper awareness of the various aspects of debating, and thus had immeasurably more appreciation for it as a sport. He was willing to engage with us on an individual level and understand the hesitations and doubts we had in order to help us overcome them, actively putting in effort to make our experience with debating a positive one. Having a coach who cared so deeply for the sport and for his students was a privilege that I benefited immensely from as I was constantly inspired to work harder and develop as a debater.

My experience with Coach Sabrina at Tuesday Academy has been unlike any coaching experience I've had before. She's much more than just a debate coach — she's someone who genuinely invests in our growth as people, teammates, and thinkers. Instead of expecting perfection, she gives us the space to try, fail, reflect, and improve. That process has made me far more confident, not just as a debater but as a person. Coach Sabrina focuses heavily on the team rather than just individual achievement. She understands that great debate isn't just about having talented individuals; it's about creating strong team dynamics, trust, and a positive team culture. She pushes us to develop our own ideas, perspectives, and arguments. Even when she disagrees with an argument, she's open to hearing it out and helping us refine it rather than shutting it down. Coach Sabrina doesn't just train debaters — she develops thinkers and leaders. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities, guidance, and support she's provided. The lessons I've learned under her coaching will stay with me long after debate.

Having had the privilege of being coached by Sabrina during my time at Assumption English School and Anderson Serangoon Junior College, I can confidently say that she is truly exceptional at what she does. She is driven by a genuine desire to nurture and uplift, rather than mere material motivations. Sabrina embodies the very best of what an educator ought to be. As her student of four years, I have watched her guide and nurture individuals from all backgrounds. On a personal level, she helped me overcome the pressure competitive debating may implicitly demand and instead, embrace my individuality. Rather than heavily imposing one-size-fits-all, black-and-white standards, her style of coaching allows students to assert autonomy, creating space to explore less conventional perspectives and expand the depth of our knowledge. She turned a shy, easily-anxious girl who once clung to a script into someone decently capable of articulating herself and trusting her intuition. She is the voice in my head that urges me to keep going — in a tough round, in periods of tiredness and confusion, in moments of hesitation and self-doubt. She deserves a share in all my wins, in and outside of debate. With my hand on my heart and with utmost gratitude: thank you, Coach.

He really takes the time to understand the unique strengths and weaknesses of each debater, charting our growth through clear, personalised advice for both immediate issues and long-term development. His wealth of knowledge has ensured that feedback is grounded and value-adds in every round, and he is not afraid to be critical when necessary, which has been crucial in pushing us to break our limits.
