Two sections: about our classes, and everything else. Can't find your question? Email us directly and a coach will reply within a day.
Format, instructors, in-person vs online, how we band students.
Yes, we offer a free first 'diagnostic' session. It lets your child experience our teaching style before committing to a full term, while also letting our coaches familiarise themselves with your child's current standard. We use the session to write a personalised lesson plan for what comes next.
Diagnostics are run by a Senior instructor. You get written feedback within 24 hours.
We don't have a permanent venue. The additional fee goes towards covering venue rental and instructors' travel expenses. For group classes it's a one-time fee per block; for 1-to-1 it's per session.
In-person classes will usually be held at convenient central venues or community spaces depending on availability. Exact details will be confirmed closer to the class start date, usually 1-2 weeks ahead.
We'll do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible, but instructor assignment depends on availability and scheduling. All our instructors are trained and experienced in coaching different skill levels. For Bespoke 1-to-1 you can choose by tier (Junior, Senior, Founder); for group classes you'll be matched with whoever is leading that band.
Yes. We group students by skill level and experience to make sure they're learning alongside peers of similar ability, not just by age. The diagnostic session is part of how we figure out where to place them.
Tournaments, subsidies, refunds, schools, scheduling.
Participation depends on the debate calendar. For students enrolled in Ala Carte classes, tournament participation is not guaranteed, unless your enrolment period happens to coincide with a tournament on the calendar.
For students enrolled in Term classes, we aim to send them to at least one tournament during the term. The Calendar page shows which tournaments are coming up.
At this time, we do not offer formal subsidies. However, we occasionally provide discounts, promotions, or bespoke pricing options in special cases. Drop us a note via the contact form and we'll see what we can do.
Yes. Schools and CCAs can engage TA for term-long coaching partnerships. We've worked with several local secondary schools and JCs. We'll build a custom curriculum, allocate multiple coaches across skill bands, and provide tournament-season support.
Unused sessions can be transferred to another student or rolled into the next term within 12 months of purchase. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Drop us a note and we'll work it out.
Completely fine. About half our students start with no debate background at all. The diagnostic is designed to figure out where to start, and our beginner bands are full of students in exactly the same boat.
